My Philosophy

Photography is my ikigai—a Japanese concept that translates to "reason for being." It's what gets me up in the morning, fuels my creativity, and brings me purpose in every frame. I’m endlessly drawn to the artistry of unplanned moments, where genuine emotions and spontaneous beauty unravel. My style blends editorial sophistication with a cinematic feel. Every image aims to feel like an heirloom, with classic black-and-white frames and a thoughtful dash of nostalgia.

Working with me means a collaboration rooted in trust and comfort, not just a vendor-client relationship. I believe that the best images come when you feel at ease, so I’m here to be your guide, your hype squad, and especially your friend.

My journey with photography began early, inspired by my grandfather, the go-to photographer in our small hometown of Napanee, Ontario. Today, I’m honoured to use his original film cameras, still marked with his MJM Photo logo when I photograph weddings. Our styles may differ, but the love for capturing life has been passed down, and I’m grateful to build on his legacy.

I'm so happy you're here! If our styles align I'd love to chat with you about your vision! Let's connect!
